Truck maintenance and repair technician at cold warehouse in Zulte, Belgium

TASKS DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a technician to perform maintenance and technical repair on their truck fleet.  You will work almost exclusively on the trailers, meaning that bigger engine, clutch or cylinder work, for example, is done by external parties. You combine bodywork repairs with practical knowledge of mechanics, basic electrics, and hydraulics.

Your responsibilities can include the following:

· Perform tire changes and wheel-related maintenance on trucks.

· Carry out hydraulic repairs and maintenance, for example on the tail lifts.

· Replace and repair lights, wiring, and other basic electrical components.

· Perform light bodywork and panel repairs or replacements.

· Replace worn or damaged parts such as panels, filters, and other mechanical components.

· Carry out general maintenance and repair work on trucks with a strong focus on bodywork, light mechanics, electricity and hydraulics, so no complex mechanical and electronical repairs.

· Work independently on most tasks, while collaborating with a colleague on more complex or safety-critical jobs when necessary.

· Follow safety procedures when handling heavy components and repair work.

· No diagnostic fault finding or advanced electronic troubleshooting is required.

PROFILE

Requirements

· All-round knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, electricity and truck bodywork is required.

· Good command of English.

· A CE license would be a plus so you can move the truck yourself.

CONDITIONS

Regular hours per week - 38h/week

Paycheck Weekly

Gross salary € 16.50 - €20 /hour

Estimated weekly net salary (excluding mealvouchers) ± €500 - €530

Mealvouchers €9/worked day (of which €1.09 tax)

Working hours Day shifts: 09:00 – 17:00 (or until work is finished)

Overtime Sometimes, the goal is to start work on Saturdays if there are two technicians

License and car required? Driver’s license and a car are a plus

Rent of  housing 102€/week (double room) 154€/week (single room) Accomodation is 14kms away.
