TASKS DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities of a Tomato Plant Pruner

Tomato plant pruners are responsible for maintaining the proper growth and support of tomato plants in the greenhouse. Their key tasks include:

Twisting, Pruning and Securing Plants

Wrap and secure tomato plants around strings or supports to guide growth

Ensure each plant is positioned for optimal light and air circulation

Maintaining Production Speed

Twist 200–300 plants per hour while maintaining quality standards

Work efficiently to meet daily targets

Monitoring Plant Health

Observe plants for signs of disease, pests, or growth problems

Report any issues to supervisors

Maintaining Clean and Organized Work Area

Keep the workspace tidy and free from obstacles

Handle tools and equipment safely

Teamwork and Communication

Coordinate with colleagues to maintain workflow

Follow instructions and provide updates on progress

Follow Safety and Quality Protocols

Adhere to all greenhouse safety rules

Ensure plants are treated carefully to avoid damage

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

Work experience - Experience in this position

Language English/ basic

 

Hours: Full-time: 45 h/ weekly

Target: 200–300 plants per hour (not lower)

Requirements:

Proven experience twisting tomato plants

Ability to work independently and accurately

Reliable and motivated

CONDITIONS

Regular hours per week - 45h/week / 5 days

Paycheck - Weekly

Gross salary 12,92 €/h (brutto)

Estimated net weekly salary +/- 380 euro net ( after all deductions)

Shift hours - 9 hours/day

 

HOUSING & TRANSPORTATION

Rent of housing (2-person bedroom) 85€/week ( double room )

Rent of car/ bike - Car free/ fuel card free/ bus from company free

Medical insurance 9.5€/month
