Key Responsibilities
1. Manages the operational team within the cold warehouse with a focus on efficiency, safety and quality and actively participates by flexibly taking on different tasks/roles within the team where necessary.
Ensures correct execution of the inbound, storage, order picking and outbound processes
Contributes to the realization of the operational objectives and KPIs
Reports daily to the Warehouse Supervisor
Monitors that work instructions and safety standards are followed and reports on deviations
Monitoring general order and cleanliness: monitoring the cleaning plan, maintaining order and cleanliness, addressing people on this topic, waste management (providing trash cans and emptying them in time),..
2. Resource management
Leads a team of warehouse workers, reach and forklift drivers and order pickers
Coordinates the use of equipment such as lift and reach trucks, electric pallet trucks (EPT), scanners, etc.
Follows the staff planning and division of tasks on the shop floor
3. Authority level, decision-making powers
Has decision-making authority over the division of tasks within the team and its leave planning.
Makes suggestions for improvements in work processes and staffing needs
Occurs in the event of incidents, safety issues or productivity issues
4. Main internal working relationships
Works closely with the Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, other team leads, HR and maintenance
Communicates with transport planning and customer service & warehouse support about loading and unloading times and priorities
5. Main external working relationships
Limited external contacts; occasional contact with drivers and transport partners
Possible interaction with customers in loading/unloading situations or audits
6. Most used processes, systems and tools
Warehouse Management System (WMS)
Scanning systems and hand-held terminals
Excel and internal reporting tools for monitoring
Refrigeration technology and safety systems (such as CCTV, reporting systems)
7. Three performance indicators
Productivity per employee (orders/pallets per hour)
Compliance with safety and hygiene regulations
Number of operational errors or complaints (picking errors, damage, loading time)
8. Three expected outputs after the first three months
Trained team that independently performs tasks according to schedule
Active contribution to improvement actions within the warehouse process
Positive feedback from colleagues on team approach and communication
PROFILE
· Minimum 2 years of experience in a logistics or production environment
· Managerial experience or experience as a cooperating foreman is required
· Knowledge of cold or frozen logistics is an added value
· Proven experience in warehouse logistics or cold storage (preferred).
· Physically fit and comfortable working in freezing temperatures.
· Good command of English
· Ability to work in shifts.
· Certificates for internal transport equipment or willingness to obtain them (reach truck, forklift, EPT, vertical order picker, Terberg)
CONDITIONS
Regular hours per week - 38h/week
Paycheck Weekly
Gross salary € 20/hour
Estimated net salary weekly €590 + -
Mealvouchers €8/worked day (of which €1.09 tax)
Working hours Alternating shifts, early/late: 06-14 and 14- 22 o’clock.
Shift allowance 10% premium for working in cold 7.5% premium for working in shifts Working on a bediende contract
Overtime Possible during weekends
